Recently,
the official acceptance notifications for the 44th Annual Meeting of The
Obesity Society, Obesity Week® 2026, have been released. Leveraging AlfaBodY,

At
the invitation of the conference, Michael Chen, Ph.D., Co-Founder & CEO of
Great Bay Bio, will deliver an on-site presentation titled Generation of GIPR
Antagonist Antibodies With Sustained Weight Loss in DIO Mice by AlfaBodY.
Research
data verifies that GIPR antagonist antibodies developed via the AlfaBodY
platform exhibit durable and stable weight-lowering effects in diet-induced
obese (DIO) mouse models. The work delivers novel candidate molecules and

Antibodies for Fat Loss While Preserving Muscle Mass
Great
Bay Bio’s poster is titled AlfaBodY-Derived ActRIIA/B Antibody With Semaglutide
Enhances Fat Loss and Lean Mass in DIO Mice.
This
study investigates the combination regimen of an ActRIIA/B antibody and
semaglutide. Experimental data demonstrates strong synergistic effects between
the two agents, effectively reducing body fat and increasing lean mass. The
combination holds promise to address a key industry challenge of muscle loss
associated with current weight-loss therapies, enabling high-quality weight
loss characterized by fat reduction without muscle wasting, and opening new
avenues for innovative combination therapies with GLP‑1
agents.
